Al Durham scored 24 points and Armaan Franklin tied a career-high with 23 points, lifting Indiana to a 79-76 double-overtime win over Northwestern in Evanston, Ill.

Jerome Hunter also made a big 3-pointer at the end of the shot clock with 16.9 seconds left in the second overtime, which put Indiana up 75-71. Chase Audige answered with a 3-pointer for Northwestern with seven seconds left that cut Indiana's lead to 75-74, but Durham was able to close the game out with four straight free throws.

Durham hit two big shots for Indiana to extend the game, a pull up jumper with 24 seconds left to tie the score at 54 at the end of regulation and an 18-foot jumper with 1.3 seconds left in the first overtime to tie the score at 66 and force the second overtime.

Indiana (11-8, 6-6 Big Ten) improved to 2-3 in overtime games on the season. Trayce Jackson-Davis overcame a sluggish start to the game to post his eighth double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Audige led Northwestern (6-11, 3-10 Big Ten) with 19 points, but it wasn't enough for the Wildcats to avoid their 10th straight loss. Northwestern was unable to hold a seven-point lead in the final two minutes of regulation and a six-point lead at the end of the first overtime, as Indiana kept charging back.

Pete Nance added 12 points for Northwestern, while Ryan Young scored 11 points.

Both teams struggled shooting in the first half, with Northwestern taking a 23-20 lead into the break. Northwestern shot 30 percent from the floor in the first half, compared to 24.1 percent shooting for the Hoosiers.

Indiana missed its first nine shot attempts from the floor and its first six free throw attempts. Northwestern took advantage of Indiana's early cold streak, jumping to a 21-7 lead on a 3-pointer from Miller Kopp.

But the Hoosiers responded with an 11-0 run. Franklin made back to back 3-pointers to cut Northwestern's lead to 21-16, then Durham made a pair of free throws to pull Indiana within three points, 21-18, with 2:32 left in the half.

Young made an inside basket to end a seven-minute scoreless drought for Northwestern, putting the Wildcats up 23-18 with 30 seconds left in the half. But Jackson-Davis was able to get an inside basket off an inbounds play before the shot clock expired with 3.4 seconds left, a play overturned on replay, to cut the deficit to 23-20 at halftime.

Northwestern played without Ty Berry, who returned to his hometown of Newton, Kan., after his father died unexpectedly on Tuesday.
